Zahin Huq has had a varied work experience since 2018. In 2018, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Modern Packaging Machinery, where they assisted in the production and launch of custom-made food packaging machines in accordance to FDA standards, and designed food packing machine components such as cup dispensers, product fillers, overcappers, etc. for several food production companies nationwide. In 2019, they were a Research Assistant at Garcia Center, where they assisted in the research and development of bioprinting methodologies to produce organotypic dermal equivalents, developed a bioprinting method to vascularize printed organotypic skin, and performed detailed experimental analysis to compare differences between printed and poured dermal equivalents. In 2020, they became a Production Engineer at Crestron Electronics, where they collaborated with development engineering teams to review product designs and generate DFA studies/reports to implement best practices for manufacturability, reviewed product assembly structure, drawings, and BOMs to ensure accuracy of critical assembly details and mass production optimization based on cost efficiency, and designed and developed fixtures/tools for new and existing product lines using Creo and knowledge of manufacturing techniques. Currently, they are a Mechanical Engineer at Ion Storage Systems.
Zahin Huq received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University in 2017. Zahin then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University, which they completed in 2019. Zahin also holds four certifications from PTC University, including Windchill Fundamentals Certification Exam 2022, Creo Parametric Professional Certification Exam 2022, Creo Parametric Professional Certification 2021, and Creo Parametric Fundamentals Certification 2021.
