Barak Azulay

Barak Azulay has a comprehensive work experience spanning over two decades. Barak is currently serving as the VP R&D at Ionir, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, from February 2021 to September 2021, they worked as the Compute Cloud R&D Manager at Zadara.

From May 2020 to February 2021, Barak was the Head of R&D at NeoKarm. Before that, they held the position of Head Of R&D at Cloudify.co from June 2019 to March 2020. At Cloudify.co, they were responsible for managing an open-source intent-based orchestration platform.

Barak has also worked at Red Hat from 2008 to 2018, where they held several management positions. Barak served as the Senior Manager of the Container Management (CM) group, responsible for the operator management interface for Kubernetes. Barak was also the RHEV Infrastructure, Virtualization, Network & UX groups Manager, overseeing the development of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization. Additionally, they worked as the RHEV System group Manager.

Prior to joining Red Hat, Barak worked at Qumranet, where they were a System group team leader. Qumranet was a startup that developed desktop virtualization platforms based on Kernel Virtual Machines (KVM) hypervisors. The company was later acquired by Red Hat.

Barak started their career at Sphera in 2002, where they worked as a software development Team leader. Barak contributed to developing Telco-grade software platforms for application and server virtualization. Before Sphera, they worked at Eplication as a Senior Software Engineer and at CrediView, CN CrediNet as a Software Engineer. Barak'searly career also includes a stint at Comverse Technology, Inc. as a Software Engineer.

Overall, Barak Azulay has gained extensive experience in R&D management, virtualization, open-source platforms, and cloud technologies throughout their career.

Barak Azulay completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Laws degree at Bar-Ilan University from 1995 to 1999. Barak also obtained a certification as a Red Hat Certified Engineer from Red Hat in July 2010.
