Xiang Gao

Xiang Gao is an accomplished pharmaceutical executive with extensive experience in pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology. Currently serving as Vice President and Head of Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Pharmacology at Ionis Pharmaceuticals since July 2022, Xiang has previously held senior leadership positions at Kira Pharmaceuticals, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer. Notably, Xiang was instrumental in establishing the infrastructure for pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics modeling and simulation at Alexion, and successfully led clinical pharmacology efforts for regulatory filings at Pfizer. With a strong educational background, including a PhD in Pharmaceutics from The Ohio State University, a Master’s in Chemistry from The University of Toledo, and dual Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, Xiang combines scientific expertise with leadership in translational sciences and drug development.
