Senior Quantum Computing Research Scientist at IonQ

Ananth Kaushik has extensive work experience in the field of research and development in the technology industry. Ananth currently holds the position of Senior Quantum Computing Research Scientist at IonQ since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Western Digital as a Research Scientist from September 2021 to February 2022, where they conducted investigations into the physics of memory devices and led research on thermal behavior and electronic structure of various materials.

Before joining Western Digital, Ananth worked at Intel Corporation from January 2013 to September 2021. During their time there, they held multiple roles, including Research Scientist in the Non Volatile Memory Solutions Group and Team Leader in the Device Modelling Group. At Intel, they played a key role in path-finding and design of memory devices, computational materials science, and development of chemical precursors for process development.

Ananth Kaushik holds a diverse educational background in the fields of Materials Science, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, and Computer Science. From 2003 to 2007, they pursued a Bachelor's degree at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, focusing on Chemical Engineering as their major, with a minor in Computer Science. Continuing their scholarly pursuits, Ananth attended Cornell University from 2007 to 2012, completing a Master's degree in Materials Science during this time. Additionally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Cornell University, specializing in Materials Science as their major and Computer Science as their minor. Ananth's educational journey emphasizes their dedication to both theoretical and applied study in various scientific disciplines. Furthermore, they have also achieved the IBM Quantum Challenge 2021 Achievement - Advanced certification from IBM in June 2021, showcasing their continued commitment to expanding their expertise.
