Kate Scully has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Kate began their career in 2012 as a Research Intern at Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. In this role, they worked on developing post-harvest agricultural machinery in Ghana and Zambia.
In 2014, Kate interned as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Blue Origin. Kate gained hands-on experience in the field of mechanical engineering during this internship.
In 2015, Kate joined Blue Origin as a Mechanical Engineer and was responsible for various engineering tasks related to hydraulic systems. Kate later transitioned to become Blue Origin's first Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Manager. Kate focused on building relationships, using data to inform DEI initiatives, and embedding DEI into systems and processes.
In 2021, Kate briefly worked as a Project Manager before joining Carbon Robotics as a Recruiter. Kate then moved on to IonQ, where they initially served as a Technical Recruiter and is currently working as a Senior Program Manager, specializing in recruiting.
Throughout their career, Kate has showcased their skills in project management, recruitment, mechanical engineering, and diversity, equity & inclusion. Kate has also demonstrated a commitment to human-centered design and business development during their internships at Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering.
Kate Scully attended Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering from 2011 to 2015. Kate earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering during their time there.
