Nicole Barberis

Nicole Barberis is currently the Technical Director of Quantum Partnerships & Alliances at IonQ. Nicole has over 18 years of experience in the field of data science and machine learning.

Nicole started their career at IBM in 2004 as a Data Scientist in the Watson Group. During their 10 years with the company, they worked on various projects involving natural language processing, deep learning, and quantum machine learning. In 2014, they left IBM to join Bloomberg LP as a Data Scientist. There, they used machine learning techniques to help Bloomberg customers make better investment decisions.

In 2017, Nicole returned to IBM as a Technical Lead and Developer for the Hybrid Computing team. In this role, they were responsible for integrating quantum applications into IBM's existing machine learning pipeline. Nicole also worked on developing new solutions for IBM using machine learning and deep learning. Nicole left IBM in 2022 to join IonQ as their Technical Director of Quantum Partnerships & Alliances.

Nicole Barberis has a M.S. in Applied Statistics from University of Wyoming, and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science - IT Data Communication from University of Washington. Nicole also has a Certificate in Stanford Machine Learning from Coursera, and Certifications in Quantum Computing from Applications of Quantum Computing and IBM.

They work with Thomas Kramer - Chief Financial Officer, Laurie Babinski - General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, and Jungsang Kim - Co-Founder & CTO. Nicole Barberis reports to Peter Chapman, President & CEO.
