Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance
The Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance is a nonprofit working to get water quality projects on the ground in Iowa through farmer-led efforts. We were formed by the Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, and Iowa Pork Producers Association. Based in Ankeny, Iowa, our work reaches farmers statewide. To date, we’ve fundraised over $220 million dollars for Iowa’s farmers. We’ve connected more than 150 organizations to work together for water quality, and we’ve reached thousands of farmers through our communications efforts. IAWA works with agri-businesses, commodity groups and other farmer-led orgs, public agencies, cities and counties, universities, researchers, conservation professionals, and others to find and deploy market-based solutions to water quality problems. IAWA promotes practices that improve soil health and preservation, such as cover crops, no-till, and nutrient management. We also support in-field and edge-of field practices such as bioreactors, saturated buffers, prairie strips, and wetlands. The IAWA Business Council is a nationally recognized, award-winning group of about 20 companies who partner on public-private water quality projects, and innovate together to continue to find water quality solutions.
