Mike Naig

Mike Naig has served as the Secretary of Agriculture for the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship since September 2013, focusing on consumer protection, economic opportunities for Iowans, and advocacy for the agricultural community. Prior to this role, Mike held various positions in agriculture and biotechnology, including Deputy Secretary at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, where responsibilities included policy, budget, and personnel management. Additional experience includes roles as Manager of Government Affairs at Monsanto, Assistant Director at the Iowa Biotechnology Association, Director of Public Policy at the Agribusiness Association of Iowa, and Government Affairs Leader at CropLife America. Mike Naig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Political Science from Buena Vista University.
