Lead Instructional Designer at Iowa Department of Education

Kristi Druvenga is an experienced educator and instructional designer with a strong background in special education and online course development. Currently serving as a Special Education Consultant at Central Rivers Area Education Agency since August 2023, Kristi facilitates successful strategies for K-12 students. As Lead Instructional Designer for the Iowa Department of Education since August 2021, Kristi leads a team focused on designing online courses with an emphasis on accessibility. Kristi has also contributed as an ELA Content Expert, supporting elementary teachers, and has developed comprehensive K-5 ELA and Math courses for the Oelwein Community School District, where Kristi has served in various roles since August 2011, including Instructional Coach and 3rd Grade Teacher. Kristi's educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master's degree in Professional Educator from Morningside University, and an Instructional Design Certification from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
