Jerry Groom

Jerry Groom has extensive experience in information technology, particularly in network design, implementation, and security. Currently serving as an Information Technology Specialist at the Iowa Department of Transportation since May 2017, Jerry previously held roles at Iowa State University as a Graduate Research Assistant focusing on internet and computer security, and various positions at Windstream Communications, including Solutions Engineer II and Inside Network Design Specialist II. Prior experience includes roles at Verizon Business as a Senior Network Engineer, and as a Service Delivery Technician II at Paetec Communications. Jerry holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security and Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, and Bachelor of Arts in Software Engineering and Information Technology from William Penn University.
