Kristopher Klop

Kristopher Klop is an experienced transportation professional with a diverse background in airport and railroad operations management. Currently serving as the Highway-Railroad Crossing Programs Manager and Executive Officer II at the Iowa Department of Transportation since October 2013, Kristopher manages grant programs for railroad crossing surface repairs and oversees the FHWA funded Section 130 Crossing Safety program. Prior to this role, Kristopher held the position of Airport Operations Supervisor at the Des Moines Airport Authority for over a decade, coordinating significant airfield and terminal projects while supervising a large team. Kristopher's career began at the City of Des Moines as an Airport Operations Assistant, focusing on training related to security and safety, and included a training role at Trans States Airlines, where expertise in customer service and operations was developed. Kristopher earned a Bachelor of Applied Studies in Entrepreneurship, Nonprofit Management & Philanthropy, and Human Relations from the University of Iowa.
