Mark Sachen

Emergency Medical Technician at Iowa Specialty Hospital

Mark Sachen has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 1996, they worked as a Process Team Member at Kraft Heinz Company. In 2006, they became a Part-Time EMS Instructor at Regional Health Education Center, a role they held until 2010 when they transitioned to become a Part-Time Instructor at North Iowa Area Community College, teaching EMS classes and American Heart Association classes.

During the same year, Mark joined Nora Springs Volunteer Ambulance Service as an EMT and was later elected to the position of Deputy Service Director. In 2011, they also became a Director on the Nora Springs Volunteer Ambulance Board of Directors.

Since 2013, Mark has served as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Iowa Emergency Medical Services Association (IEMSA), representing the North Central region of Iowa. In addition to their board responsibilities, they are a committee member for the Legislative Affairs committee and the EMS Memorial committee.

Most recently, starting in 2020, Mark has taken on the role of an Emergency Medical Technician at Iowa Specialty Hospital. Overall, their work experience showcases their dedication to emergency medical services and education.

Mark Sachen attended North Iowa Area Community College from 2008 to 2009. During their time there, they studied EMS, but did not obtain a degree.
