Sam Easterling

Sam Easterling is the current Dean of the College of Engineering at Iowa State University. Prior to their current position, they were Department Head at Virginia Tech in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from August 1987 to July 2019.

Sam Easterling completed their PhD in Structural Engineering at Iowa State University. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science in Civil Engineering at West Virginia University, and their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at West Virginia University.

Sam Easterling works with Laura Dunn Jolly - Dean, College of Human Sciences, Daniel Grooms - Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine, and Ann Marie Vanderzanden - Associate Provost, Academic Programs. Their manager is Jonathan Wickert, SVP & Provost.
