Catarina C. is a biologist currently working as a senior researcher in the Laboratory of Phytoplankton at the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) since 2021. They hold a Master of Science degree from the Universidade de Aveiro, which they completed in 2007, and a graduation degree from the same institution, earned in 2006. Catarina is pursuing further education at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
