Vasileios Vasilakakis

Vasileios Vasilakakis has a diverse work experience history. Vasileios is currently employed as a Senior Data Scientist at ipQuants AG since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at AiForenterprises from December 2017 to June 2021, where they held the role of Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer.

Vasilakakis also served in the Greek Air Force mandatory military service from July 2016 to July 2017. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Visiting Researcher at AGNITIO Voice Id in September 2013, at KU Leuven from June to August 2013, and at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from September to November 2012.

Earlier in their career, Vasilakakis worked as a Software Engineer at Phaistos Networks S.A. from January to August 2010. Their responsibilities included developing a web scraper for a price comparison engine, contributing to web development, and utilizing various programming languages such as Python, PHP, SQL, HTML, and CSS.

Vasileios Vasilakakis completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Crete from 2003 to 2008. Vasileios then pursued a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence at The University of Edinburgh, completing it from 2008 to 2009. Later, they enrolled in Politecnico di Torino for their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer and System Engineering, specializing in Automatic Speaker Recognition and Height estimation, which they accomplished from 2011 to 2014.
