Rubén Ponce Tortajada

Rubén Ponce Tortajada has a diverse work experience in the field of electronics and firmware engineering. Rubén is currently working as an Electronic Product Engineer at iPronics Programmable Photonics since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Cecotec Innovaciones S.L. from April 2021 to January 2023 as an Ingeniero de firmware. In this role, they were responsible for designing and developing embedded systems for consumer electronics and IoT devices using languages such as C, C++, and Python. Rubén also worked with microcontrollers ARM from ST, ESP32, and embedded Linux.

Before joining Cecotec Innovaciones S.L., Rubén worked at ITI - Instituto Tecnológico de Informática as an R&D Engineer from February 2017 to April 2021. Here, their work focused on the Industry 4.0 research line and the design and development of IoT devices, including hardware and firmware aspects. Rubén also implemented drivers and sensor conditioning.

In 2016, Rubén worked at ITENE as an Auxiliar de desarrollo e investigación. In this role, they designed and developed embedded systems, including data recorders for transportation monitoring and devices for reading OBDII in electric vehicles.

Their career in the engineering field began at IZ ingenieros y consultores in 2014. Here, they worked as an Ingeniero de Firmware, where they were involved in the firmware design and development of a medical implantable device. Rubén also contributed to the hardware development, mechanical design, electronic testing, technical documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards such as ISO 13485, UNE 60601, 62304, and 45502.

Rubén also worked as a Técnico de laboratorio at IZ ingenieros y consultores from November 2014 to April 2015.

Rubén Ponce Tortajada completed their undergraduate education from 2010 to 2015 at the University of Valencia, where they earned a degree in Ingeniería de telecomunicaciones. In addition to their degree, they also obtained two additional certifications. In July 2017, Rubén acquired the certification in INGENIERÍA DEL SOFTWARE APLICADO A LOS SISTEMAS EMBEBIDOS_OL_16_17 from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Furthermore, in March 2017, Rubén earned a certification in REDES INDUSTRIALES, PROGRAMACIÓN Y COMUNICACIONES CON AUTÓMATAS SIEMENS S7-1500, also from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
