Zhaoming Xiong

Zhaoming Xiong currently serves as Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Ipsen since July 2023. Previously, Zhaoming held the position of Program Lead and Associate Director of Discovery Chemistry for Rare Diseases at Takeda from August 2022 to July 2023, where leadership was provided to multidisciplinary research teams developing Positron Emission Tomography (PET) ligands for lysosomal storage disorders. Prior to that, Zhaoming worked at AbbVie from March 2017 to August 2022 as Senior Scientist III/Principal Research Scientist II, leading medicinal chemistry strategies and managing a team that achieved notable project milestones, including compounds advancing to phase I clinical studies. Zhaoming's earlier experience includes a role as Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist and lab head at Boehringer Ingelheim, alongside postdoctoral research at Harvard University with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry, culminating in a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Lanzhou University.
