Gregg Murgia has extensive work experience in intellectual property law and management. Gregg currently serves as the Vice President, IP Counsel at IPValue since February 2020. Prior to this, they worked as Counsel at Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC from November 2018 to February 2020. From 2016 to 2018, Murgia was a Partner and VP Legal at TnT IP, LLC, where they provided a wide range of IP services to global clients including licensing, IP strategies, and IP investment evaluations.
Murgia also had leadership roles at organizations like the New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association (NJIPLA), where they served as President in 2016. Additionally, they worked at Alcatel-Lucent from 2007 to 2016, starting as a Senior Director and later becoming the Senior Director of Patent Creation - Americas & Sr. IP Corporate Counsel. Gregg also worked at Lucent Technologies as a Director of Business Development from 2003 to 2007 and as an IP Corporate Counsel from 1997 to 2003.
Before entering the legal field, Murgia gained experience as a Software Engineer at the U.S. Army Communication-Electronics Command from 1992 to 1996 and served as a U.S. Army Officer in the Signal Corps from 1984 to 1991.
Throughout their career, Murgia has demonstrated expertise in various aspects of intellectual property, including licensing, patent prosecution, IP strategies, and business development.
Gregg Murgia completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, where they studied from 1980 to 1984. Gregg then pursued their Juris Doctorate degree at Seton Hall University School of Law from 1992 to 1996.
