Iwan Davies

Iwan Davies has extensive work experience in the technology and manufacturing sectors. Iwan began their career in 1985 as a Senior Scientist at Plessey Research (Caswell) Ltd. In 1988, they transitioned to IQE plc where they held various roles, including Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Director, Operations Director, and finally Group Technology Director. Davies' work experience at IQE spans from 1988 to the present.

Iwan Davies completed their education in a chronological order. Between 1972 and 1979, they attended Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen in Pontypridd, but it is not specified whether they obtained any degree or field of study. From 1979 to 1982, they pursued a B.Sc. in Chemistry at Imperial College London. Following that, they enrolled at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1982 and completed a Ph.D. in MOVPE (Metalorganic Vapor Phase Epitaxy) of Compound Semiconductors in 1983. Continuing their academic journey, Davies then joined the University of Manchester from 1983 to 1985, where they earned another Ph.D. in MOVPE of Compound Semiconductors.

In addition to their educational background, in March 2021, Iwan Davies obtained membership in the Royal Society of Chemistry.
