Alexandra Shanley has a diverse work experience spanning various museums, universities, and art organizations. Alexandra is currently working as a Graphic Designer at IQHQ since February 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at the J. Paul Getty Museum, where they progressed from Designer I to Designer III, starting in May 2016 and ending in January 2022. Before that, they worked as a Graduate Intern at the museum from September 2015 to May 2016.

Alexandra also served as the Young Artists Exhibition Coordinator at The Phillips Collection from October 2014 to July 2015, where they managed a gallery space featuring student art exhibitions and was responsible for installing and de-installing artwork, designing graphics, and coordinating with vendors and partnering institutions.

In 2015, Alexandra briefly worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The George Washington University. Alexandra also gained experience as a Curatorial Graduate Fellow at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design from August 2013 to May 2014.

During their early career, Alexandra worked as the Curatorial Support Group Administrator at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art from July 2011 to June 2013. Alexandra also interned at the Art, Design & Architecture Museum, UCSB, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara. Additionally, they served as an Education Intern at The New Children's Museum, San Diego.

Alexandra Shanley completed their education with a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Museum Exhibition Design from The George Washington University's Corcoran School of Art + Design. Alexandra pursued this degree from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, Alexandra earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Art History and Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara, attending the institution from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained a certification in Graphic Design Foundations: Color from LinkedIn, which they acquired in March 2021.
