Jan Goetz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jan is currently the CEO & Co-Founder of IQM Quantum Computers since June 2019. In addition, Jan is a Member of the Governing Board at the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) since June 2021. Jan has also been a Global Innovator & Digital Leader at the World Economic Forum since November 2019. Jan has served as a Board Member at the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) since November 2021, with an end date of May 2023. Previously, they worked at Aalto University School of Science and Technology as a Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellow and Postdoctoral researcher. Jan also has experience as a Technical Expert at simplinic GmbH, a Scientific Researcher at the Walther-Meissner-Institute (WMI), and a Scientific Assistant at the Chair for Energy Systems, TU Munich. Jan began their career as a Working Student at BMW Group and Werkstudent at OSRAM.
Jan Goetz's education history includes a Master's degree in technical physics from the Technical University of Munich, obtained between 2006 and 2011. Later, they pursued a PhD in physics at the same university from 2011 to 2016. Jan then went on to receive the title of Docent in Quantum Technology from Aalto University, which was completed by 2020. In addition to their academic achievements, Jan Goetz also obtained certifications in High Throughput FPGA and NI FlexRIO from National Instruments in December 2017.
