William G. Kaelin Jr.

Director

William G. Kaelin Jr., M.D. has been serving as a director of IQVIA since November 2025. Dr. Kaelin is a Senior Physician-Scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and the Sidney Farber Professor of Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kaelin became an independent investigator at Dana-Farber in 1992 and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in 2002. He joined the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in 1998. In 2019, Dr. Kaelin won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his groundbreaking work on oxygen sensing and the role of the von Hippel-Lindau (VHL tumor) suppressor protein. Dr. Kaelin currently serves on the board of directors of Eli Lilly and Company, LifeMine Therapeutics, and the Damon-Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. He previously served on the National Cancer Institute board of scientific advisers, the American Association for Cancer Research board of trustees and the Institute of Medicine National Cancer Policy board. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the American College of Physicians and was recently a Duke University trustee. Dr. Kaelin holds a Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Associate Bachelor in Chemistry from Duke University.
