Ahmed Badr is the Director of Project Facilitation and Support at IRENA since April 2020. Prior to this role, he served as the CEO & Executive Director at RCREEE from July 2015 to March 2020. With experience in various organizations such as EBRD, European Commission, Japan Bank for International Cooperation, The World Bank, and GKW Consult GmbH, Ahmed has a vast background in renewable energy, environmental engineering, and infrastructure projects. He holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Paris ESLSCA Business School, amongst other educational achievements.
