Charissa Astley-Turner is an experienced risk and compliance professional, currently serving as Chief Risk Officer and Head of Risk & Compliance at Iress since October 2021. Prior to this role, Charissa held various positions at Westpac from August 2013 to August 2021, including Director of Risk & Governance in the Corporate & Business Development team, where responsibilities encompassed risk management, compliance, governance, and regulatory transformation. Charissa also led Westpac's response to the Productivity Commission’s Inquiry during a secondment as Project Lead, and provided legal advice as Corporate Counsel for Group Legal & Strategic Investments. Earlier career experiences include legal roles at Ashurst and Finlaysons, policy development in the Attorney-General's Department, and a congressional fellowship in the United States Senate. Charissa holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Bachelor of Laws & Legal Practice from Flinders University and completion of the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
