Kirby Watson

Kirby Watson serves as the Director at Iridium since September 2018 and has held multiple significant positions within the U.S. Army and Joint Staff, including Chief of Staff for the Joint Staff J6 since June 2017, where coordination of a 400-person staff occurs. With an extensive military career beginning in 1988, Kirby has led various teams, such as a 1,100-person unit at the Joint Communications Support Element, and managed strategic communications for senior leadership in high-pressure environments. Notable previous roles include Commander at the White House Communications Agency, which involved providing communications support for the President and Vice President, and IT Manager at the U.S. Army Signal Center of Excellence. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Strategic Studies from The United States Army War College, a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Lycoming College.
