Marco Bavera has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Marco is currently working as the Associate Director of Information Systems at Iridium, a position they started in August 2021. Prior to that, they worked at 2020 Teknology as a Network Architect from April 2018 to August 2021.
Before joining 2020 Teknology, Marco had a long tenure at The Boeing Company, where they served in various roles related to network engineering and design. From January 2007 to April 2018, they were the Lead Network Designer/Engineer, focusing on the ground network infrastructure of Iridium Satellites Feeder Link Terminals (FLT) sites. Marco led the redesign and deployment of the network infrastructure, supported domestic and international site installations, and ensured service continuity. Prior to this role, from October 2000 to January 2007, Marco worked as a Network Designer, overseeing the upgrade, maintenance, and operation of the Iridium Network Operation Center and its ground network infrastructure.
Marco also gained experience in network engineering at Iridium Satellite LLC, where they worked as a Network Engineer from September 1996 to April 2018. Furthermore, they started their career at Telespazio in September 1990, initially serving as a Facility Operator responsible for the operation and maintenance of various facility systems. Later on, they took on the role of System Administrator, leading the redesign of the Iridium ground network infrastructure and configuring the Iridium Backup Operation Center in Rome, Italy.

Marco Bavera completed a degree in Computer Networks and Security at UMUC from 2014 to 2016. Marco also holds a certification in CISSP from ISC2, which they obtained in December 2006.
