Samantha Halvorsen

Samantha Halvorsen is an experienced optometrist and educator with a diverse background in eye care and vision sciences. Since August 2022, Samantha has served as a Casual Instructor for Vision Care Sciences Programs at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, delivering lectures and practical demonstrations to Optician program students. Samantha has worked at IRIS The Visual Group since August 2016, providing comprehensive eye care services, including routine care and disease management, in a family practice setting. Previous externships include roles at La Plaza de Salud SANOS, the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, Hospital Dr. Gualberto Rabell, Jonathan M. Wainwright VA Medical Center, and Sherwood Park Optometry, focusing on various aspects of primary care optometry. Samantha holds a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico-School of Optometry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Alberta.
