Curt Gunsenheimer

Managing Partner at Iris Capital

Curt joined Iris Capital in 2002. He is responsible for investments in late-stage and growth capital across Europe.

Curt has twenty years of experience in venture capital and public-market financing of growth technology companies, with particular expertise in the field of Software. His areas of focus include infrastructure & enterprise software, cloud/SaaS, financial software, software-enabled services and automotive tech.

He currently supports companies in Germany, France and in the US in stages of global expansion.

Companies he previously backed include: Talend (data&app integration/big data; IPO on NASDAQ), Human Inference (DQ/MDM software; acq. by Neopost), SmartTrade Technologies (trading systems - acq. by investors), DataDirect Networks (high-performance storage; exited in LMBO), Xcalia (middleware platform; acq. by Progress Software), VoxMobili (PIM software; acq. by OnGlobal), Oodrive (backup & collaboration software; acq. by investors); Alyotech (software engineering services; acq. by Eurogiciel), Genesys Conferencing (conferencing services; acq. by InterCall) and EVS Broadcast Equipment (broadcasting systems; IPO on EuroNext). Investments in other sectors include: Mister-Auto.com (online auto parts; acq. by PSA Peugeot Citroën), Varioptic (optics; acq. by Parrot), QSC AG (telecom services; IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange).

Prior to joining Iris Capital, Curt worked at Goldman Sachs and at Robertson Stephens, one of the leading technology investment banks, focused on software and technology companies. Based in London and San Francisco, he led and worked on numerous pioneering IPOs of tech companies across Europe, and cross-border M&A transactions in Europe and the US. Curt also worked for MIT on entrepreneurship and technology spin-out programs.

Curt is a graduate of ESSEC School of Management (Paris, France) and of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, USA).
