Head Of Analytics And Innovation at Irish Rugby Football Union

Vinny Hammond's work experience includes various roles in the field of performance analysis in sports. Vinny started their career in 2006 as a Performance Analyst PT at World Rugby, where they worked until 2009. In 2008, they joined the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) as a High Performance Analyst and later became the Head of Analytics and Innovation in 2019. In 2011, they also started working as a Performance Analysis Lecturer at University College Dublin (UCD). In 2017, they worked as a Performance Analyst for The British & Irish Lions. Recently, they took on the role of Director on the Board of Directors at Golf Ireland and the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS).

Vinny Hammond's education history includes a BSc in Sports Management from University College Dublin, which they completed from 2003 to 2006. Later, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued an MSc in Performance Analysis at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Finally, from 2015 to 2021, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sports Performance & Analytics at University College Dublin.
