Roy Thorson

Roy Thorson, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP has an extensive work experience spanning over a decade. Roy currently serves as the President of IRISO USA, Inc, a position they held since April 2019. Before assuming this role, they were the Vice President of Operations at the same company from January 2016 to March 2019. Prior to their tenure at IRISO USA, Inc, Roy worked as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Coca-Cola East Japan Co., Ltd. from February 2015 to December 2015. Before that, they held key positions at TACHI-S Co., Ltd., including General Manager of Global Human Resources from April 2012 to January 2015 and Human Resources Manager from February 2009 to April 2012. Roy also served as the Human Resources Manager at Takao America Corporation from May 2006 to February 2009.

Roy Thorson holds a Master's Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources, which they obtained from Michigan State University in 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in East Asia Studies with a focus on Japan from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. In 1995, they completed an Associate's Degree from Northwestern Michigan College. Roy Thorson also obtained additional certifications including the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HRCI in March 2021, the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in December 2015, and the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI in March 2012.
