Lamine Aouad has over 15 years of work experience in the security research field. Lamine began their career in 2004 as an Assistant Lecturer (ATER) at Polytech'Lille. In 2006, they moved to University College Dublin as a Marie-Curie Research Fellow. Lamine then held a Researcher position at the University of Limerick from 2009-2011. Lamine returned to University College Dublin as a Researcher from 2011-2013, before moving to Symantec as a Principal Research Engineer from 2013-2019. In 2019, they joined Tenable as a Principal Researcher. In 2022, they began working as a Security Consultant at ITK Engineering, and also took on a Security Researcher role at IriusRisk.

Lamine Aouad has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science, Distributed Computing, and Numerical Analysis from the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology, obtained between 2002 and 2006. Lamine also holds a Master of Science - MS in Distributed Computing from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI), obtained between 2000 and 2002. Theireducation history also includes a Master of Engineering - MEng in Computer Science from the University of Oran 1 Ahmed Ben Bella, obtained between 1994 and 1999. Additionally, Aouad has obtained certifications in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age from HarvardX - An Online Learning Initiative by Harvard University through edX in May 2021, Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) from Offensive Security in February 2021, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in April 2020.
