Samir Sijercic is the current Lead Engineer at Iron Sheepdog. Samir has over fifteen years of experience in the engineering field and has worked with many different companies. Samir has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University. Samir is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Samir’s previous work experiences include HR/T Compass, LLC, Codefry, and Pontis Communications, Inc. As the Principal Consultant at Codefry, they led the multi-million dollar Emergency Operations Network (EON) project for the FAA. Samir was responsible for designing, developing, testing, evaluating and implementing a technology framework and building collaborative, event reporting, and decision support applications around stack of Microsoft technologies. Samir successfully promoted EON and expanded the customer base, integrated solutions with legacy FAA systems, researched and evaluated complimentary technologies, and managed vendor relationships. Not only this, but they also created a budget plan and set business plan objectives and milestones for FY08 through FY15. Samir managed a team of 5-8 people and met all Flight Plan (Business Plan) objectives before the deadlines each fiscal year.
Before Codefry, Samir worked as the Vice President of Information Systems at Pontis Communications, Inc. from January 2007 to June 2011. In this position, they were responsible for the overall management and direction of the company’s information systems. This included developing and implementing policies and procedures related to information systems, managing system administrators and programmers, overseeing system security, and more.
From January 2005 to March 2014, Samir was the Lead Software Architect at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of software developers in designing, coding, testing, and implementing software applications. Samir also provided technical guidance and support to other teams within the FAA. Samir was successful in this role and was able to deliver software products that met or exceeded customer expectations.
After completing a degree in Information Networking at Carnegie Mellon University, Samir Sijercic pursued a career in computer engineering. Samir worked in the field of electrical engineering, computer science, and math at Virginia Commonwealth University.
