Liqiang Ding

Liqiang Ding has extensive work experience in the field of machine learning and software development. Liqiang is currently working as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Irreverent Labs since March 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Machine Learning Developer at Unity Technologies from September 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining Unity Technologies, Liqiang worked at Imagia Canexia Health as an Applied Research Scientist from October 2020 to August 2021, where they focused on machine learning research. Liqiang also held the position of Machine Learning Engineer at Imagia Canexia Health from February 2018 to October 2020.

In 2017, Liqiang worked at McGill University on their Master's Thesis project, where they designed and implemented a software system that used deep learning technology to analyze traffic camera videos. Liqiang also worked on object detection, classification, and tracking using Convolutional Neural Networks.

Prior to their academic research, Liqiang gained industry experience as a Software Developer Intern at Kronos in 2015. Liqiang was responsible for coding changes, improving code efficiency, and reducing performance testing time.

Liqiang started their career at IBM as a Websphere Application Server Specialist from May 2013 to August 2014. Their role involved expertise in managing and configuring web application servers.

Before their professional career, Liqiang co-founded a company called Beat the Exam in 2012, where they managed marketing strategies, resource management, and the creation of e-version collections of class notes and textbooks.

Liqiang Ding completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from McGill University, where they studied from 2011 to 2016. Liqiang then pursued a Master of Electrical Engineering (M.Eng) specializing in Computer Vision and Machine Learning at McGill University from 2016 to 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Liqiang Ding has obtained various certifications from Coursera to enhance their knowledge and skills.
