Jacqueline Garnier-Laplace

European Radiation Protection Strategy Coordinator at IRSN

Jacqueline Garnier-Laplace is a seasoned expert in radiation protection and environmental safety, currently serving as the European Radiation Protection Strategy Coordinator at IRSN since May 2024. Previously, Jacqueline held several key positions at the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency from May 2019 to May 2024, including Deputy Head of the Division of Radiological Protection and Human Aspects of Nuclear Safety, and served as the Scientific Secretary of the Committee of Radiological Protection and Public Health. Jacqueline's extensive experience at IRSN from May 2000 to May 2019 includes roles such as Deputy Director for Research in Radiation Protection, focusing on governance, strategy, and implementation of research in this field, and also Deputy Director of the Environment overseeing a significant department dedicated to environmental radioprotection. Jacqueline holds an Engineering degree in Water Sciences and Technologies from Polytech Montpellier, a Ph.D. in Ecotoxicology/Radioecology from Montpellier University, and has an Accreditation to Supervise Doctoral Research from the University of Aix-Marseille, specializing in ecological risk assessment and ecotoxicology.
