Nathan Carter

Nathan Carter is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as the General Manager of Whitegate Refinery at Irving Oil since January 2020, Nathan focuses on enhancing business performance through leadership coaching and operational excellence. Previously, Nathan held key positions at Syncrude Canada Ltd., including General Manager of Utilities and Offsites and Business Team Leader, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing multimillion-dollar operating and capital expenses as well as ensuring safe and reliable operations. Earlier experience includes roles at Imperial Oil, where Nathan managed complex operating areas, and multiple positions at Syncrude with significant contributions to maintenance, reliability, and SAP implementation. Nathan holds an MBA with a specialization in Energy and Natural Resources from the University of Alberta, along with executive leadership certificates from Harvard Business School and Queen's University.
