Javier Menéndez

Javier Menéndez is a Senior Research Scientist at Repsol with experience in energy efficiency, decarbonization, process optimization, and simulation. Javier is also a teacher at the Refining, Petrochemistry & Gas Masters Degree program, focusing on comprehensive control and operation of crude distillation units. In addition, Javier handles sustainability strategy, APC engineering, and technological prospection in refining plants. Menéndez is also involved in control strategies for power plants and gas turbine/generator integration, as well as overseeing operations in the electric market. With a background in Ingeniería Industrial from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Menéndez also teaches Process Control & Instrumentation at the International Society of Automation.
