Ishøj Kommune
Mette Hensel has extensive experience in educational guidance and youth support, currently serving as the Leader of Youth Initiatives at Ishøj Kommune since April 2019, overseeing a team that includes educational advisors and mentors for individuals under 30. Prior to this role, Mette held various positions at UU:Center Syd from January 2011 to March 2019, including Team Leader and KUU Coordinator, where responsibilities involved developing documentation and procedures for youth enrollments. Other roles at UU:Center Syd included advising young people aged 15-25 and coordinating special projects aimed at providing alternative educational pathways for youth unmotivated toward formal education. Earlier experience includes working as an advisor at Børns Vilkår, focusing on counseling for children and parents, and pedagogical work in early childhood settings. Mette holds a Master's degree in General Pedagogics from Aarhus University and a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy with a focus on children and youth with ADHD, complemented by additional training in management.
