Shannon Fernandez currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Island Health, a role assumed in April 2025, where the focus is on enhancing community well-being and delivering high-quality care. Prior experience includes serving as the Chief Strategy Officer at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, where leadership was provided in maximizing revenue opportunities and developing strategic plans, and as Vice President of Billing, where significant improvements were made to revenue cycle management. Additionally, Shannon held the position of Director of Finance Operations and Revenue Cycle at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, managing financial reporting and patient accounting operations. Previous roles at Providence St. Joseph Health involved establishing productivity systems that yielded substantial labor cost savings. Earlier experience includes consulting on reimbursement strategies for 43Tc. Shannon holds a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Providence and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Bakersfield.
