Mark Wardman has over 20 years of work experience in financial analysis and management accounting. Mark started their career as an Assistant Management Accountant at the National House Building Council, where they were responsible for producing monthly departmental management accounts and variance investigation. Mark then worked as an Assistant Accountant at The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, producing monthly management accounts and coordinating month-end processes for the organization and its subsidiaries. Mark later joined Housing Solutions Group as a Management Accountant, where they prepared monthly management accounts, budgets, cash-flow projections, and long-term business plans. Mark also worked as a Financial Analyst at the BC Housing Management Commission, monitoring daily cash positions, preparing long-term cash flow forecasts, and reconciling long-term debts. Mark further gained experience as a Finance Manager at BC Children's Hospital, monitoring income and expenditure of designated and restricted funds. Mark's most recent experience was at Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, where they held roles as a Capital Budget Analyst and a Financial Analyst - Strategy & CIO. In these roles, they prepared financial analyses, monitored and reported on budgets and strategies, and provided support and guidance to non-finance managers. Mark's achievements include redesigning vendor invoice reconciliation processes and reducing arrears by 75%.

Mark Wardman attended Chesham Grammar School from 1989 to 1995 where they completed their A levels and GCSEs. After that, they attended The University of Huddersfield from 1995 to 1998 and earned a BA (Hons) degree in Accountancy and Management Studies. Mark also obtained several additional certifications including a Digital Mindset certification from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants in 2020, a Certified Management Accountant certification from the Certified Management Accountants organization in 2011, a Certified Management Accountant certification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2008, and a Strategic Management Certificate from CPABC, though the year of completion is unknown.
