Spiros Mazarakis

Spiros Mazarakis has a diverse work experience in various industries. Spiros started their career in 2008 as an Assistant of Electrical Engineers at Public Power Corporation. After that, in 2012, they joined the Management of Greek Grid Public Power Corporation as a Member of a team of Electrical Engineers.

In 2013, Spiros worked as a Marketing Specialist at Homespitality, the first sharing economy platform for tourism. Then, in 2016, they became a Product Development Expert at Optionsnet, where they contributed to the Lynceus2Market project, addressing the challenge of safe evacuation of large passenger ships.

Moving forward, in 2015, Spiros worked as a Business Designer at SAMMYACHT, where they designed organizational structures and strategic assets for Yachting Marinas. Spiros also served as a Digital Marketing Specialist and a Product Innovation Marketing Manager at SAMMYACHT.

In 2019, Spiros joined UniSystems as a Corporate Intrapreneurship Consultant and later took on the role of Business Designer. Spiros was responsible for developing growth strategies, identifying business opportunities, and building customer relationships.

In 2020, Spiros worked as a Counselor of the National Sectoral Council for Research, Technology, and Innovation at the Ministry of Development & Investments. Spiros provided guidance in the field of research, technology, and innovation.

In 2022, Spiros joined PELAGOO as a Business Designer, contributing to the design of business models for enhanced Marina administrators and Yachters experiences.

Currently, Spiros is working at Island Innovation as an Island Innovation Ambassador.

Spiros Mazarakis has a diverse education history. In 2004, they started their undergraduate studies at the University of Patras, where they pursued a degree in Electrical and Computer Science specializing in Electrical Power Systems. Spiros successfully completed their undergraduate program in 2010.

In 2014, Spiros Mazarakis furthered their education by enrolling in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Patras. Spiros specialized in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services and completed their MBA in 2016.

Continuing to enhance their skill set, Spiros Mazarakis obtained a Certificate of English Language Proficiency from Michigan State University in May 2017. This certification attests to their proficiency in the English language. Additionally, in June 2013, they obtained the Cambridge English: First (FCE) certification, which is equivalent to CEFR level B2.

In 2018 and 2019, Spiros Mazarakis pursued their interest in innovation and design thinking by undertaking two separate educational programs. First, they attended Emeritus, where they completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation and Design Thinking in collaboration with MIT Sloan and Columbia University. Concurrently, they also enrolled at the MIT Sloan School of Management to focus specifically on Design Thinking and Innovation.
