Sarah Teague has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and organizations. Sarah began their career as a Classroom Teacher at St Raphael's RC Primary School in 1987 and then moved to Mayfield Middle School as a Classroom Teacher in 1988. Following this, they worked at The Isle of Wight College as an Associate Lecturer for Adult Basic Skills from 1989 to 2000. Sarah then joined Isle of Wight Council and East Cowes Primary School as a Family Learning Consultant from 2000 to 2008. Sarah's most recent roles include being an Adult Community Learning Manager at Isle of Wight Council from 2008 to 2010, and then advancing to the position of Strategic Lead for Learning & Development at the same company from 2010 onwards.

Sarah Teague received their high school education at Cardinal Wiseman High School from 1977 to 1983, where they studied A Levels in English and Religious Education. Sarah then attended St. Mary's College, Twickenham from 1983 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English and Drama. Later, Sarah obtained a Bachelor of Education (Hons) from the University of Surrey in an unspecified year. In 2022, they received a certification in MSc People and Organisational Development from Roffey Park Institute.
