Stephanie Tortell currently serves as Chair-Elect of the ISMPP Board of Trustees and President of Ashfield MedComms, an Inizio Company, since January 2021. With a robust background in healthcare communications, Stephanie has held prominent roles at Ashfield Healthcare Communications, including Senior Vice President and Group Medical Director, and contributed as Agency Head at Ashfield MedComms. Previous experience includes leadership positions at Cirrus Communications and Complete Medical Communications, alongside various roles at GlaxoSmithKline. Stephanie's career began as a researcher at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, following the attainment of a BSc Hons in Zoology from the University of Leeds. Academic and professional expertise centers on integrating scientific knowledge with effective communication tailored to diverse audiences.

ISMPP (International Society for Medical Publication Professionals)
ISMPP is the only not-for-profit organization founded by medical publication professionals for medical publication professionals. Since its inception in 2005, the Society has grown to more than 2,500 members, with representation from all stakeholders involved in the publication of medical research, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and device companies; medical publication and communication agencies; medical journal publishers and editors; professional medical writers; and academia. ISMPP’s mission is to advance the medical publication profession globally through enhanced integrity and transparency in medical publications and wider communications; improved standards and best practices; and education, advocacy, and professional collaborations.
