Ray Gates is currently the Secretary of WG15 at ISO/IEC/JTC 1, Treasurer Board Of Directors and Web Administrator (volunteer) at Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary. Ray is also the Chairperson of the SCC Mirror committee to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32 Data management and interchange. Ray has been actively involved in various roles within the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC32 Data Management & Interchange committee since 1996, including serving as a Canadian delegate and Editor for several ISO standards. Prior to their current roles, Ray worked as a Data Architect at Manulife and John Hancock Financial Services. Ray holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from The University of Manchester.

This is a communications and news feed for JTC 1 JTC 1 is the standards development environment where experts come together to develop worldwide Information and Communication Technology (ICT) standards for business and consumer applications. Additionally, JTC 1 provides the standards approval environment for integrating diverse and complex ICT technologies. These standards rely upon the core infrastructure technologies developed by JTC 1 centres of expertise complemented by specifications developed in other organizations. JTC 1 was created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to provide a single, comprehensive standardization committee in which to address international Information Technology (IT) standardization.
