Michael Kishon has extensive experience in both military intelligence and sports officiating. Since February 2019, Michael has served as an Intelligence Officer in Israeli Military Intelligence. Concurrently, from August 2015, Michael has been a Basketball Referee for the Israel Basketball Association, combining a passion for sports with officiating. Prior military service includes a role as a Combat Soldier in the Golani Brigade from November 2016 to August 2018. Michael's academic achievements include pursuing bachelor's degrees in Communication and Media Studies and Multidisciplinary Studies - Military Operational Art and Science at the University of Haifa, as well as completing the Field Company Commanders Course at the IDF Tactical Command College, culminating in October 2023.

The Basketball Association is the superordinate body concentrating all the basketball activity in Israel by virtue of the Sports Law. The Association runs all the Leagues in Israel (under the Association, two independent leagues were created: Men's Super League and Women's Super League), and it likewise takes care of all Israeli teams, the registration of all the teams in the various leagues, the players, the coaches and so forth. Operating under the Basketball Association are the disciplinary committees and the Supreme Tribunal, along with the Association of Referees, who has gained full professional independence.
