Attorney Dr. Joshua Rosensweig was born in Toronto, Canada and immigrated to Israel in 1973, where he received his LLB in Law from Bar-Ilan University. After completing the required clerkship and becoming a member of the Israeli Bar, Dr. Rosensweig studied at NYU and completed both an LLM (in Taxation – 1979) and a JSD (doctorate – 1981) in International Taxation. Dr. Rosensweig carried on a law practice dealing with commercial and fiscal law, including cross-border and international aspects thereof, and related M&A activity, representing leading institutions, companies and investors in Israel and abroad. Dr. Rosensweig lectured in both Bar-Ilan Law School and in the Recanati MBA Program at Tel-Aviv University for approximately 15 years, as well as publishing articles and chapters in major tax periodicals and texts. He also served as Special Advisor on Fiscal Matters to the Knesset (Israeli parliament) Finance Committee, and served as a member on 3 government committees set up to reform and introduce amendments to Israel's fiscal regime, in the areas of: tax-free reorganizations, international tax principles and taxation under inflationary conditions. Dr. Rosensweig served as Chairman of the Board of First Int'l Bank of Israel (one of Israel's 5 largest banks), and as a director of major companies in various sectors.
