Jonny Sjöberg

Jonny Sjöberg is a seasoned professional in the field of rock mechanics and engineering, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Itasca International Inc. since January 2024. With extensive experience at Itasca Consultants AB, including roles as General Manager, Principal Engineer, and Board Member, Jonny has specialized in rock mechanics and numerical modeling for mining and civil engineering applications. Additionally, Jonny holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Luleå University of Technology and is an active member of the Svenska Bergteknikföreningen. Previous roles include senior researcher at LKAB, rock mechanics engineer at Vattenfall Power Consultant and Boliden Mineral AB, and consulting with Itasca Consulting Group. Educational credentials include a PhD and MSc in Rock Mechanics from Luleå University of Technology.
