Mauricio Álvarez Bley

Mauricio Álvarez Bley has over 20 years of experience in IT project management and technical roles. Mauricio started their career at Unilever Chile in 1996, providing technical project support for various plants within the company's holding. From 2001 to 2011, they worked as an Analyst Software Developer for Farmacias Ahumada S.A., specializing in web development and backend programming.

In 2011, Mauricio joined ARAUCO as an IT Project Manager, where they evaluated and managed projects related to financial accounting and human resources. Mauricio utilized HP PPM tools to monitor and control project development, working with internal and external teams.

From 2014 to 2015, Mauricio worked at Entel as an IT Project Manager, focusing on integration and development projects for fixed telephony provision and services. Mauricio was responsible for implementing new functionalities, documentation, and functional tests.

In 2015, Mauricio joined CMR Falabella Chile as an IT Project Manager, leading a project that incorporated life insurance into customer services. This project opened a new sales channel for financial products and significantly improved sales efficiency and ticket size.

Currently, Mauricio is working at Itaú Chile as a Tech Lead and Systems Project Manager. Mauricio is leading technological projects for the bank's core sub-management, including a banking systems consolidation project. Their responsibilities include analysis, technical design, implementation, and coordination with other areas such as architecture, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Mauricio manages internal and external work teams, suppliers, and budgets.

Throughout their career, Mauricio has demonstrated expertise in project management and technical skills, driving successful outcomes and delivering value to their organizations.

Mauricio Álvarez Bley has a diverse education history. Mauricio obtained a certification in Programa DevOps from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in 2023. Prior to that, they earned a Magister degree in Ingenieria en Informática from Universidad Andres Bello between 2011 and 2013. Mauricio also completed a Diplomado en Gestión de Proyectos, a Diplomado en Informática, and a Diplomado en Ingeniería de Software from the same university in 2010. Before their diploma programs, they received a degree in Ingeniero de Ejecución Informática, earning the title of Licenciado en Ciencias de la Ingeniería from Universidad de Las Américas (CL) between 2007 and 2009. Furthermore, they acquired a T.S.U. in Informática from Universidad de Tecnologia Industrial Rodolfo Loero Arismendi from 1992 to 1995. In addition to their formal education, they hold several certifications including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in 2021 and Scrum Master Professional Certificate - SMPC® and Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate (SFPC) - SP/EN from CertiProf in 2020 and 2019 respectively.
