João Moreira Salles

oão Moreira Salles (non-executive member) has been a member of the Board of Directors of Grupo Itaú Unibanco since 2017.

He has held various positions in the Itaú Unibanco Group, including Director at IUPAR – Itaú Unibanco Participações SA since 2018, having been a member of its Board of Directors (2015 to 2018). He was a member of the Board of Directors of XP Investimentos SA (2018 to 2019).

He is currently Director of Brasil Warrant Administração de Bens e Empresas SA (BWSA), where, since 2013, he has supervised BW Gestão de Investimentos (BWGI) as a member of the firm's Investment, Risk and Operational Committees and is responsible for monitoring the other subsidiaries of BWSA. He is a partner and member of the Investment Committee at Cambuhy Investimentos Ltda. since 2013 and was a member of the Board of Directors of the investee Parnaíba Gás Natural (2014 to 2017). Before joining BWSA and Cambuhy, he worked as an Investment Banker at JP Morgan Chase in New York.

He holds a BA in Economics from the Institute of Education and Research (INSPER), São Paulo, Brazil; Master in Economics from Columbia University GSAS, New York, USA; Master in Finance from Columbia University GSB, New York, USA and Ph.D. in Economic Theory from University of São Paulo (FEA-USP), São Paulo, Brazil.
