April Sherman

April Sherman has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. April started their career as a Retail Inside Sales Associate at The Virginian-Pilot in 1997 and worked their way up to various roles including Retail Office Manager, Circulation Teleservices Quality Manager, Port Folio Publishing Business Manager, Sales Support Manager, and Recruitment Inside Sales Manager. April'slast position at The Virginian-Pilot was as a Subscriber Retention Manager, where they were responsible for maintaining the subscriber base by implementing marketing campaigns and analyzing market trends.

After leaving The Virginian-Pilot in 2008, Sherman worked as a Sales Manager at Novo Solutions, Inc. for a year before joining the Institute for Professional Development (Averett University) as a Corporate Education Liaison in 2009. April stayed in this role until 2012 when they transitioned to Unisys as a Financial Analyst for USCG FINCEN.

In 2013, Sherman moved to IT Coalition and took on the role of Program Manager & Senior Financial Analyst for USCG FINCEN. April managed accounting systems support contracts and gained experience in Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) analysis, working closely with federal clients. In 2020, they transitioned to the position of Director Of Business Services and Senior Program Manager USCIS SCOSS at IT Coalition, where they currently provide business operations support services to DHS (USCG, TSA, and DNDO) at the USCG Finance Center (FINCEN).

April Sherman has a strong educational background in business administration. April obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Business Administration from Tidewater Community College from 1999 to 2002. Building upon this foundation, April went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Behavioral Science from Bluefield University, which they completed from 2007 to 2009. Seeking further specialization, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from Averett University Graduate & Professional Studies, where they studied from 2009 to 2011.

Additionally, April Sherman holds a valuable professional certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), which they obtained in November 2019 from the Project Management Institute.
