Ashley Simpson

Ashley Simpson has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Ashley started their career at Consumers Energy, where they served as a Gas Service Field Supervisor and later as a Construction Project Lead. In these roles, they led teams and implemented safety procedures to ensure the well-being of employees and protect company assets.

Afterwards, Ashley worked at DTE Energy as a Human Performance Department Coordinator and Nuclear Engineer. Ashley coordinated systems engineering efforts and had dual reporting relationships with the engineering supervisor and human improvement lead.

Currently, Ashley is the Director of Safety, Corporate Security & Emergency Preparedness at ITC Holdings Corp. Ashley is responsible for overseeing safety measures and emergency preparedness initiatives for the largest independent electricity transmission company in the US. Prior to this role, they served as the Leader of Inclusion & Diversity, where they implemented strategies to improve employee engagement and performance while also enhancing diversity in talent sourcing and retention.

Throughout their career, Ashley has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a dedication to safety and performance improvement.

Ashley Simpson has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Management from Oakland University. Ashley also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Energy Systems from Michigan Technological University. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, ESG Workshop, Human Performance, and Inclusive Leadership.
